Online Training Hours For Family Home Childcare Providers
Instructor Led

All courses offered on this site meet requirements for "instructor led" hours which simply means you can obtain all required hours here.

In a letter dated March 18, 2005 Michelle Adams, Lead Program Specialists writes:

"Thank you for the update on the online training for home-based child-care operations.  Since you have added the chat line, providing the opportunity for trainees to communicate with an "instructor", the computer based training for home-based caregivers can be considered instructor-led training.

As you know, we do not approve training materials or endorse training resources or trainers (Texas Administrative Code 747.1317), however, training that includes the criteria specified in 747.1315 and that is related to the topics listed in 747.1307, will comply with the minimum requirements.  Our licensing staff will recognize certificates that comply with 747.1327.

Licensing staff review the documentation provided by the child-care permit holder to determine compliance with these minimum standards.  If the information presented by the permit holder is incomplete, Licensing staff may ask the permit holder to provide additional documentation or information about the training to assist in determining compliance.  Additional documentation may include a course syllabus, training outline, copy of a final test, or the homework assignment we have previously discussed, all of which would be reflective of the requirements in 747.1307 and 1315(b).
